SENIOR POLICY ADVISOR ART AND CULTURE

As of 1 November 2022, I am working on an interim basis as Senior Policy Advisor Art and Culture at the Municipality of Amstelveen. I am being seconded at Gemeente Amstelveen via Ra’Quel. https://ra-quel.nl/
In 2022 I worked three days a week in Amstelveen, in 2023 I will work 36 hours a week (until the end of April 2023).

Activities/tasks included:
– Supervision of a trainee
– In collaboration with colleague Lies Kregting doing last minute organization / inventory of plans for the contribution (Impulsgeld 2022) City of Amstelveen got from Ministerie OCW, including drawing up an advice. Advice has been adopted by the alderman and council.
Result: approval of plans from 7 Amstelveen institutions, worth almost 195,000 euros. With great thanks to alderman Herbert Raat and the council and team leader Jantien van Zanten-Ruys, who all worked hard to make this possible in such a short period of time. Nice piece of teamwork in that respect!

– contact for the major cultural institutions (Cobra Museum, P60, Platform C, Schouwburg Amstelveen, Amstelveens Poppentheater, Museum JAN, Amstelveens Bostheater)
As part of this last task I was responsible for, among other things:
a. draft a letter for termination of the current subsidy relationship with cultural institutions, in connection with switch to a 4-year subsidy structure as of 1 January 2024. Ensure that the letters for cancellation of the current 1-year subsidy relationships were sent to the institutions (P60, Schouwburg Amstelveen, Cobra Museum, Platform C, Amstelveens Poppentheater, Bibliotheek Amstelland) on time
b. draw up advice on tenders 2023 of 6 cultural institutions for aldermen’s staff (P60, Schouwburg Amstelveen, Cobra Museum, Platform C, Amstelveens Poppentheater, Museum JAN)
c. draw up advice on four grants Museum JAN for aldermen’s staff.
d. Ensure that the determination of the Puppet Theater 2021 subsidy has been sent in the system and that the decision has been sent to the organisation
e. conducting discussions with the Supervisory Board of 4 cultural institutions together with the alderman
f. together with the alderman every week paying a visit to another cultural institution as part of the so-called ‘Rondje Cultuur’
