The Culture of Ageing

Last year Mare van Koningsveld and I did a curatorial residency in Valletta (Malta). We responded to an open call initiated by Valletta2018, the organisation responisble for realizing the Valletta2018 program (Valletta will be Cultural Capital of Europe in 2018, together with Leeuwarden, Holland). After our stay we had to submit a project proposal for 2015 as part of VIVA Festival/Valletta2018. The other Dutch curator that was invited to come to Malta last year had to submit a proposal as well. We were in this kind of curators competition, and knew in the end only one project was going to be realized. In the beginning of 2015 the Valletta2018 organisation let us know a professional jury has chosen Mare & my plan to be executed later this year in Malta. Of course we are very happy about this!

Our project will be called “The Culture of Ageing”. It will be about how society deals with an ageing population.
